Art Getting A New Home In Delray Beach

Delray Beach loves the arts, but there are few spaces in the city where it can be created.

But artists looking for studio space in Delray could soon have a home. Michelle Ferry, founder of ReCreate — a nonprofit art studio, gallery and children's art school — plans to reinvent the organization to create Art House of Delray Beach: a space where artists can rent studios and exhibit their work, adults and children can take classes and the community can watch art as it is created.

"There have always been art galleries for hobby, crafty artists in Delray Beach," said Sumintra Muhammad, program director of the Art House. "But for artists 20 to 40 years old there's very little. There's a big void."

Artist Ferry Enlightened At Historic Old School Square And The Cornell Museum In Downtown Delray

ReCreate Art Studios & Gallery is pleased to present the exhibit, "Enlightened", showcasing artist Michelle Ferry's latest body of work at the historic Old School Square in Delray Beach on Friday, June 1, 2012. It will take place in the beautiful Ocean Breeze Room from 12:00pm - 9:00pm. Guests may stop in during the day or enjoy an evening out. Starting at 5:00pm wine service will be provided by Potions In Motion.

This beautiful exhibit will cater to South Florida's art collectors as they witness Michelle's latest collection of original glass earth sculptures. "Enlightened" exhibited for the first time in honor of Earth Day in April at the renowned Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden.

Artist Michelle Ferry Partners With Aveda For Earth Month

Delray Beach – (April 29, 2012) – Local glass artist, Michelle Ferry has partnered with Aveda for the company’s Earth Month Campaign. This month-long campaign, in honor or Earth Day, is designed to celebrate and raise awareness to protect the earth. This year the focus is on clean water initiatives. Sadly, every 21 seconds a child dies from lack of access to clean water.

Aveda is raising money for the The Everglades Foundation (evergladesfoundation.org) and The Gulf Restoration Network (healthygulf.org). Gulf Restoration Network. For the Gulf, April is also the month of remembering the BP oil spill that happened on April 10, 2010. This vital resource for Florida is still in peril and restoration still continues after two years.

ReCreate Art Gallery is pleased to present the exhibit, "Enlightened" in honor of Earth Day 2012. It will showcase artist Michelle Ferry's latest body of work at the world-renowned Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens in Miami, Florida, April 14-15, 2012. Palm Beach County Art Collectors Take A Moment To Reflect At Local Art Exhibit

DELRAY BEACH, FL – ReCreate Art Studios & Gallery presented “Reflections of Our World,” a private exhibit by local glass artist Michelle Ferry on November 19, 2011. This solo exhibition featured Ferry’s new fused glass sculptures of the Earth. Miami curator Eddie Negron transformed Ferry’s Delray Beach residence in Tierra Delray Estates into a gallery.

Select Palm Beach County art collectors were invited to experience Ferry’s unique pieces while being treated to an elegant reception and silent auction of Ferry’s work. A percentage of proceeds benefitted the buyer’s choice of charity including international organizations Food for the Poor and World Wildlife Fund along with local Unity School of Delray Beach.
